And we think it's cold here!

Dawn in New York - over at www.fourfiftythree.blogspot.com posted these photos of what it looked like out her back door - and I was put out by the frost on my windshield - I can't imagine living where the weather is that cold - spoken like a true southerner.
Hope ya'll are all ready for the Christmas festivities. I guess I'm getting pretty close to all I'm going to do.
Jennifer and I are going to my nephew, Alexander's wedding this weekend in Huntsville, AL. I hope we don't see any weather like this while we are gone. Ya'll may have to come get us next spring!

Aren't these pictures incredible?
I borrowed them from
Violette's blog. She
took them at a store
called Lou Lou Luv in Vancouver, BC. A window like this would really get your attention and make me want to come in and browse. I always enjoy the HGTV special at Christmas about the back scene work that it takes to decorate the windows of the huge department stores.
I moved here from Dallas and I always enjoyed going to see the Neiman Marcus windows...they are incredible. The amount of work that goes into them defies logic! I'd like to have window displays like this at the store but I'm not sure that I have the talent or the budget for something of this magnitude! Something to aim for though!
I just finished working on some projects from the March Book Club selection - they have some wonderful ideas in this book - I made a couple cards that impressed me. If you get a chance, come by and look at the projects or just take my word and sign up for Book Club - it's next Wednesday evening. I promise it will be worth your time and money!
We actually have a tracking number for our Stickles shipment! I thought it would never happen! They are supposed to be here...in the store...on Monday, March 29. We'll keep you updated!
Have a good week! Come see me!

Ghost Cut

Do you ever get to the point that you have so much to do that you don't know where to start? I'm bad about jumping from one project to another and not completeing any of them - my daughter has diagnosed me with ADD. I don't think that's the truth but I am a bit scattered and unorganized. I'm trying to do better - I'm about to go buy another storage unit for my office to see if that will help. Wish me luck!

I recently took an online course on the Cricut and learned some wonderful things and I wanted to pass this idea on to you. Have you ever wondered if the cut you are about to make on your cricut will fit or be the correct size? I know I have and have wasted many sheets of paper getting to just the right sizes - Ghost Cuts will eliminate the wasted paper.

To Ghost Cut -
  1. Set the depth on the blade holder to 1
  2. Set the pressure to minimum
  3. load the paper
  4. select what you want to cut
  5. press cut

The blade will not touch the paper but will allow you to watch where it goes so that you can decide if it's the correct size for what your project.

Good luck -

As part of the class, you will receive a booklet that includes patterns that you can enlarge or reduce for a number of different occasions. Give us a call and sign up today.

And mentioning busy - I have to master the use of the i-top, make a gazillion samples, etc, etc. And I love every minute of it.

Beautiful Day

Next week, I am giving a class on covering the paper mache letters. I love those letter! I made Bayer a leash holder and put it up on the wall in the pet section. Yesterday, Bayer kept going over and sniffing of her leash. I guess she was wondering why it's hanging up there and she's not getting a walk. It's really cute. I like the paper mache letters so much because you can do so many different things with them - you can use them for decorations in your home or make functional uses out of them - like Bayer's leash holder. What dog wouldn't like one of those.

Call and reserve your spot early so we can reserve your letters. The class fee includes 3 paper mache letters, 6 sheets of paper and modge podge to complete the project. You bring your scissors and what you want to decorate your letters - ribbon, scrabble letters, pictures, picture frames, rhinestones, flowers - whatever you want to put on them.

We had a great crop last night. Lots of fun people were here cropping their hearts out and making beautiful layouts. I'm constantly amazed at the level of creativity out there!

It's a beautiful day today - sunshine, clear skies - one of those perfect Mississippi winter days that reminds us of why we live in the south.

Bayer Myers took the day off - she said it was a great day for her to lie in the sunshine and chase squirrels. She loves to squirrel hunt.
